Our church successfully launched this
series as follows;
- The pastors used the following resources to
develop a preaching series; notes
for a sermon series &
Lenten sermons
- Small groups can used taped
messages from pastor or some of following videos (available via streaming)
independent evangelical video series &
women of Bible
- We made copies available to members at cost.
- Some folks gave gift of book to neighbors, friend or relative. Great
outreach opportunity. It's easier to share the faith with a book. Many
gave as gifts.
- We used many of the resources on this site as part of a preaching
and teaching series. Our Sunday School used rotational materials based
on Biblical characters;

- Small groups met on a regular basis and discussed weekly topics
raised in book and sermon series. Groups met throughout the week
(including Sunday mornings).
- The entire series significantly raised the Biblical literacy of our
members. Familiarization with these characters enables more effective
Bible reading.
- Many
of our people enjoyed reading parallel chapters in "People of Purpose" and
"Purpose-Driven Life. This provided an opportunity to examine similar themes
from a main line church perspective.
- Some churches may want to consider
using this series in preparation for "40 Days of Purpose" campaigns.
- Some churches may want to use this
resource as a Lenten series. The 40 character profiles review essentials of
the Christian faith during the 40 days of Lent.
